Langsroth bee hive, including bees

A traditional Langstroth hive, including your choice of 1 or 2 x 8 frames boxes, outer lid, inner cover, bottom board and bees! The frames hold a mix of brood (new bees) and honey and the hive includes a new season queen. These hives are specifically made for the beginner beekeeper with a strong hive ready to go, rather than a nucleus hive (or 'nuc') you may see elsewhere.

Break down of the hive you will receive:
1. Ventilated bottom board - the base of your hive with removable stainless steel tray and beetle mesh. This base allows airflow through the hive helping with temperature control, beetle reduction and reduced condensation. 
2. Inner cover - a pine inner lid that helps prevent burr comb and makes accessing the hive for inspections easier
3. A gabled, ventilated roof - not only does this lid help with temperature and condensation management, but it looks good too!
4. One or two x eight frame boxes with a queen excluder, giving you one box of brood and a super for honey storage. All frames included, plus bees, a queen and a mix of brood, pollen, nectar and honey already stored in the hive.
 
These hives are a quality product with features recommended by trail and error to ensure you have the best start to your beekeeping experience. The boxes are painted with two coats of exterior paint, and while colours may vary, all are light tones selected to help the bees keep the hive cool.
 
Prices are $450 for a single box eight frame hive, although I recommend the double eight frame hive for $650 as this includes the super and queen excluder, which will be required for the single box when the hive gets big enough to start storing honey. The double box hive will already have some honey stores and a larger number of bees.
